Hi John,

While we agree on taxes (it's a vehicle to retire debt, but not necessarily a result), we disagree on interest.

Considering my example above, after one year, the person who borrowed $5 now owes $6. If they only pay the $1 in interest, they still owe $5, but only $4 are left in circulation. That $1 in interest has been effectively retired from the money supply.

Paying interest and paying taxes does not retire money from circulation. Only payment of loan principal does that. See http://johnturmel.com/bankmath.htm of youtube for How Banks Create Money

Dear Jay,

I didn't know what to expect after reading all the comments to your post, and to your responses. They are all over the board, even mine.

But what you have done here is astonishing. You were able to to connect them ALL.

Now I am a puzzle master; 5000, 10,000 piece puzzles, of a Caravaggio masterwork, don't intimidate me, I relish them.

However, that is nothing compared to this subtle grace of this masterpiece.

You managed to bring all 3 major religions to the table and showed their common bond: a formal educational practice. One, that for the most part, has been forgotten in Christianity.

And you did so with humble eloquence and not even a hint of of condenscension. It was so inviting. I hope all your the other readers enjoy it as much as I have. In fact, I posted it on my blog I liked it so much.

You won't see anyone else's information.... and that now leads me to examine, why?

I have more work to do on resolving some issues of 'self'; and thank you for inspiring me to aspire to reach a more richer destination.

I am a friend.
